This will set a new record for me for the longest ever round trip to and from a gig from where I live in Newport, which for me currently stands at around 345 miles for BBC Radio 2 Live In Blackpool, my wife got a text saying we won tickets the night before the event . . . Apologies for vanishing from the board for a while - just loads going on in my life right now!

I'll post a longer review later, but suffice to say Nanci looked very happy and relaxed, full of smiles.
The set-list was a strong one and The Sage acoustics really brought the best out of the sound.
Edwina Hayes did a good half hour before Nanci came on and then joined her on stage for the last three songs. Their voices harmonised very nicely.
It's the first time I've seen Nanci; hopefully she'll be back before too long.

Re: Nanci in Gateshead, UK - February 8, 2010 Nanci was in good form. It was wierd seeing her without James, but it didn't seem to hold her back at all. The set was excellent, very varied, but I did miss 'Gulf Coast Highway'  And it was great to hear her sing 'The Road To Aberdeen' again. She did it as an encore at a concert I saw on my 30th birthday ten years ago in Newcastle, just over the water from Gateshead. It gave it a nice symmetry.
